Painting of the hull

Today the weather quite ok to work on the underwater hull. I have sanded up to 20 cm old paint below the waterline and sanded the rest. Where the antifouling was abraded, I first painted with primer and then provided the entire hull with new antifouling.

Visit of the X-Yacht shipyard in Haderslev (Denmark)

On March 19th we had the opportunity to visit the X-Yacht Yard in Haderslev as a part of the winter program of the club.  Approximately 20 members took the opportunity to look behind the scenes of a boatyard. Thorsten (Toddi) Bastiansen led us through the company and told a lot about the history of the shipyard and the individual construction stages of a yacht. Painting

After 37 years, the boat had to be painted inside . The preparations for this were, however, very time expensive. Unscrew everyting, fill, sand and glue, took significantly longer than planned. But thats the way it is! The result can be seen, however.

Installation of fuel cell

Another step is done. The fuel cell is installed. This required a lot to be rebuilt on board. As a locker was released by the reconstruction of the oven, I have now installed the entire electrical system here. But since there was not enough space due to the hull shape, I have built a small platform on which the inverter is placed. First, the two batteries came into it. Inspection hatch for the water tank

The next point of the spring campaign was the installation of an inspection hatch for the water tank. The old hatch was made of plastic glas. You could easily see whether the tank was cleaner not, but not clean it without loosening a lot of screws. That’s why I needed a new hatch that can be opened quickly. Here are the pictures of the rebuild. 

Installing the oven

The oven was until now always in one of the large lockers and had to be laboriously dug out every time. That’s why I decided to pull the oven out on rails from an unused locker if needed. Here are the first steps of this conversion in a series of photographs.
